Memebox Scentbox #6 Sweet Shop Review + Coupon Codes

I'm a sucker for all things that look cute (including that adorable spider dog) so when I saw this on the Memebox page I may have broken into a happy hamster dance.

In case you've never ever heard of these fun boxes here's the brief lowdown:
What: Memebox is NOT a subscription box. Rather it is a themed one-time purchase box filled with beauty products from Korea. There are several types of boxes: Memebox, Superbox, and Luckybox to name a few.
When: New boxes come out quite often, about every week or so.
Cost: $15 - $39, depending on the type of box + $6.99 shipping (from Korea)

This box was selling for $15 but there was a $15 off code floating around the Interwebs so this box turned out to be FREE! Okay well I paid $6.99 for shipping but in my current broke state I like to think of myself as bargain savvy so I tell myself that I got it for free.

And don't you think this is pretty awesome for a free box?...

Hello Everybody Vita Berry Shampoo (Value: $23)

This is probably the loveliest shampoo I have ever smelled. Ev-er. I got sample sizes of the shampoo and conditioner duo in the Hair & Body 2 box and it made the entire box smell ahhmazing. It contains a 10-berry complex to give you "healthy hair with twinkle shine." But that's kinda where it stopped for me. It's got no lather :( The website's description advertises this as 7-free, but since it's in Korean I can only guess that includes sulfate-free. And I admit, I'm not particularly health conscious because I LIKE MY SUDS! But I'll use this whole thing up because I like to smell like 10 different berries all at once.

Pure Smile Choosy Lip Pack Shining - Pink Pearl & White Pearl (Total Value $5)

Can you believe this is the first time I've ever gotten a Pure Smile product in a Memebox? I guess that just means I don't order enough of them. ;) So this is a lip mask that you wear for 5-30 minutes to get shiny hydrated lips. The patch is enriched with collagen, vitamin E and hyaluronic acid to give your lips the ultimate moisturizing treatment. According to the picture on the back of the package I guess this doubles as a nipple moisturizer? I mean why else would there be a drawing of a person wearing the patches like pasties? Maybe for nursing mothers?

Hope Girl Tinted Lip Balm - Hot Cherry (Value: $12)

Sorry I don't have a picture of the actual thing for you folks. Based on the info card the balm itself really is quite cute. We could've gotten one of three flavors: love peach, strawberry, or hot cherry. Obviously, strawberry would've been my first choice since I like smelling like berries (see shampoo above). Second choice would've been peach because well, life's peachy. And although I like to eat cherries, I hate anything cherry scented or flavored. I have cough syrups to thank for that. Same goes for grape flavors. Thank you, Dimetapp. This will probably find itself in the swap pile, which is why I haven't ripped through the sticker holding the box closed. I wanna try and get my grubby hands on that strawberry one.

Pure Smile Jewelry Scrub Glitter Sugar Scrub (Value: $8)

Do not make the same mistake I did and start gathering your jewelry for its annual bathtime. That's what happens when you don't read the fine print. Or the info card. I really don't think my jewelry will appreciate a sugar scrub as much as I would. I've got hand scrubs, foot scrubs, and now a body scrub. With this, MY behind will be as soft as a baby's. Oh, TMI? This is loaded with black sugar, shea butter, jojoba oil, glycerin, and gemstone powder extracts. In my case, ruby extracts. I'm not sure how true that last part is because I don't see anything ruby about it. The scrub is just kind of whitish. But it definitely has sugar and oils in it. I actually like this scrub, and if it weren't for the heavy perfumy scent I'd like it even more. It's pretty thick but still squeezable and left my skin soft and moisturized. And smelling 20 years older. Really. The scent bothers me. I think most people wouldn't mind it but I love smelling fruity (which I feel is the underlying theme in this post), not sultry.

Box value: $48
I think this was a pretty good box overall, especially since I only paid $6.99 for it! I know lots of people don't like that Memebox tends to fill boxes with Pure Smile and Hope Girl products, but I'm happy with the Pure Smile scrub (I'll just leave the berry shampoo open while using it!) and would've been ecstatic with the Hope Girl lip balm if I didn't get cherry! I've also never tried a lip mask before so that should be interesting.

  1. Ooo! I'm totally with you on the lack of suds! I neeeed suds. It smells great but that lack of suds meant I swapped the full size bottle. Good job on getting yours for $6.99!

    1. Haha I was wondering if I should swap it too because I love suds, but I think I love the smell even more! If anything I'll use it after my regular shampoo just so my tub can smell like berries :)
