Memebox Global #17 Unboxing

Memebox Globals seem to take FOR-EV-ER to ship out. I ordered Memebox Global #17 back in mid-September and it didn't ship until over two months later. If you learn anything from Memebox (besides how to spend money) it's how to have patience.

What: Memebox is not a recurring subscription box. It's a one-time-purchase box filled with beauty products from Korea. There are several types of boxes: Memebox, Superbox, and Luckybox to name a few.
When: Lately Memebox seems to have paused their box releases and is focusing more on promoting their very own brand new XO Memebox line. Go check it out!
Cost: $15 - $39, depending on the type of box + $6.99 shipping (from Korea). Memebox Global #17 was selling for $23+$6.99 shipping and is now sold out.

This box brought up the tail end of my Memebox frenzy week. I'm pretty picky about which ones to purchase so typically I'd get one in the mail every 2-3 weeks. For some reason the last several boxes I picked up all shipped around the same time and I got four boxes in as many days. I'm sure for some Memeboxers that's nothing out of the ordinary, but my brain is kind of overwhelmed right now. In a good way :)

Climax Water Pool Cleanser (150ml full size value: $34) - Have you ever used soda to wash your face? Me neither. But apparently the wait is over because this is a soda water cleanser that can remove makeup and skin impurities. The texture is described as being "elastic," "sticky," and "gum type." Me thinks this is a messy cleanser. Supposedly the "mucin-like gel melts onto skin" and extracts the grime. Use it twice to completely clean your face. From the sound of it, I think I'll have to wash my face for a third time with a regular cleanser just to remove the stickiness. But it still sounds oddly intriguing and I feel compelled to try it just for the novelty. Into the queue you go.

Shara Shara Bee Tox Spot Cream (15ml full size value: $18) - My first bee venom product! This spot cream uses bee venom to soothe and alleviate the swelling of pimples and has six types of herbal extracts to control sebum secretion. I've heard about bee venom's supposed anti-aging effects, but I had no idea it had calming effects as well. If anything I would've thought it'd do the opposite and trigger an inflammatory response. But the bee venom is pretty low on the ingredient list so maybe it's not enough to do any harm. There's a bunch of anti-acne/bacteria stuff in there such as tea tree oil, salicylic acid, and grapefruit extract as well as some moisturizing agents like hyaluronic acid, meadowfoam seed oil, and shea butter. Sounds like a pretty well-rounded blemish product. I want to hurry up and get through my current spot treatment so I can move on to this one (I hate having more than one skin care product with the same purpose open). I'll stop short of saying I want more pimples so I can use it up faster, but that's how much I want to try bee venom.

Shara Shara Pink Piggy Collagen Cream (50ml full size value: $22) - This looks like a water cream with collagen at the top of the ingredient list.
It has a water cream texture
I'm not sure how effective topical collagen treatments are, but there are other smoothing/anti-aging ingredients in here as well like adenosine and silicones. There's also sodium hyaluronate, argan oil, and squalane to provide some hydration. I'm kind of glad to get this because I actually prefer water creams over regular creams since they sink into the skin super fast. This one is no exception plus it leaves behind a subtle fresh scent that I can't quite put my finger on. Not to mention the cute packaging and now I want a pet piggy.
INGREDIENTS: Hyrolyzed Collagen, Water, Butylene Glycol, Hydrogenated Poly(C6-14 Olefin), Glycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Polysorbate 20, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Dimethicone, Betaine, PEG-240/HDI Copolymer Bis-Decyltetradeceth-20 Ether, Piper Methysticum Leaf/Root/Stem Extract, Phellinus Linteus Extract, Arctium Lappa Root Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Pueraria Thunbergiana Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Paeonia Lactiflora Root Extract, Cnidium Officinale Root Extract, Soluble Collagen, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Cyclomethicone, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, 12-Hexanediol, Squalane, Polysorbate 60, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Citrate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tocopheryl Acetate, C12-14 Pareth-7, Bisabolol, Disodium EDTA, Adenosine, Citric Acid, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Sucrose Disterate, Ceramide 3, Panthenol, Folic Acid, Cholesterol, Raffinose, Tromethamine, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol, Red 33, Yellow 5
Dr. MJ Real Mucin Restore Sun Cream SPF45 PA+++ (50g full size value: $41) - I'm guessing the reason why a sun cream is in this box is to remind us that UV protection is important even in the winter when we often forget that we have a sun. (Or if you're in the southern hemisphere then this couldn't have come at a better time!) But this isn't just any ol' sunscreen. It's a sunscreen with snail slime! I'm sure we all knew this was coming sooner or later with the loads of snail mucus Memebox has been throwing our way lately. Snail slime has great anti-aging benefits as it's loaded with proteins that soothe, regenerate and hydrate skin. I only recently overcame my snail disgust and have been slowly picking my snail cosmetics out of my "yuck" pile. I'd love to open this too, but we've got about 6 open bottles of sunscreen right now because for some reason C keeps thinking we ran out and keeps opening new ones.
INGREDIENTS: Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Glycerin, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Zinc Oxide, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Titanium Dioxide, Glycereth-26, Phenyl Trimethicone, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Betaine, Snail Secretion Filtrate, Allium Cepa (Onion) Bulb Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Althaea Rosea Flower Extract, Magnesium Sulfate, Dimethicone, Aluminum Hydroxide, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Aluminum Stearate, Methicone, Trihydroxystearin, Polyglyceryl-6 Polyricinoleate, Nicotinoyl Tripeptide-1, Oligopeptide-28, Oligopeptide-29, Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben

Palan Crysence Home Care Pouch Set (80ml approx sample value: $15) - Would you pay almost $200 for a liter of hair care? This is a two-part hair treatment system that costs $186 for 500ml of each part. I like caring for my hair but not THAT much. The way I see it, in two years all that hair you spent $$$ on will probably have been chopped off anyway. Mini-rant aside, this is a "protein shampoo" and "protein treatment" that nourishes damaged hair and rejuvenates sensitive scalps. So it makes your scalp not sensitive then? And how does it do that? With natural minerals, hydrolyzed protein, keratin, jojoba oil, salicornia herbacea, tea tree, meadowfoam seed oil, and citric acid of course. It sounds mighty similar to hair treatments you can find at Target, but okay. I don't use treatments that have to stay on for over 5 minutes (this one's 10-15 min) because I always forget about it. But for the sake of being a good sport I'll try it.

Cheek Room Lip Palette - 02 (full size value: $24) - At first glance I thought this was an eye shadow palette and thought, Wow do they reeeally want us to look like we just went bobbing for berries? Then I read what it actually was. This lip palette has three types of lip color - regular lipstick, shiny lipstick, and lip balm. They can be mixed and matched to create different shades. I received Palette #2 which had the following colors:
-Color Lips: hot pink & purple lady
-Shiny Lipstick: orange
-Lip Balm: lovely purple
It's a fun little tray of lip adventures, but last week I rounded up all my opened glosses and lip balms and they fill up a Birchbox. For someone who only applies gloss once a day that's gonna take me a while to go through. I need to start learning how to say no to lip products. So, no.

It seems like lately Memebox is sending out really high valued curations - according to their inflated Memeprices, anyway. This one contained over $150 worth of skin care, hair care, and makeup. I can get use out of everything except the lip palette *sniff, sniff* so I think it was a decent box. My favorites are the Pink Piggy cream (that wonderful scent!) and the spot treatment because I think bees are so cool, just not when they're near me.

The Global #17 box is no longer in stock, but they still have some other boxes available. And that includes the Memebox X CutiePieMarzia 2 collaboration box! 1. Oo! This is my first close look at this box! I know the Crysense gets rave reviews but I'm not into haircare. I'm excited to get the piggy cream if it smells as good as you think it does. And the beetox of course. Not so much the lip palette, I'm with you on that. And I'm definitely using a suncream with snail slime in it! Woo!

    1. I used the Crysence last night and the shampoo actually smells really good, almost like candy. There's nothing super awesome about the hair treatment though, it just feels like a regular conditioner. Not something I'd pay $200 for. I still can't think of what the water/gel cream smells like but I like it! I know it reminds me of something from my childhood, I just don't know what :-/

  2. I liked the Crysence hair essence I got a while back in Memebox, but daaaaaang those prices. I'll try it if they send it, but any repurchased products are probably getting picked up at Target and the like!

    1. Same here. The shampoo smells really nice, but as far as results go you can find something comparable at mass retailers.
