Walmart Beauty Box Review - Fall 2016

What: Walmart Beauty Box contains samples of beauty products from major drugstore brands. Multiple versions are available for different age groups - this review is for the Trendsetter box.
When: Ships once a season (March, June, September, and December)
Cost: The box itself is free, but there is a $5 flat shipping fee

The Walmart beauty box is great for budget-conscious types (like me!) since everything can be found at your local Walmart or nearest big box store. And to be honest, I've discovered some things through this box that I prefer over their high end counterparts. Be forewarned that you'll probably get at least one repeat item in each box but there's always something new in there as well.

Dove Purely Pampering Nourishing Body Wash - Sweet Cream with Peony - Speaking of repeat items, I know I've gotten a Dove Nutrium Moisture body wash in a previous box, but it was probably in a different scent. I would love to comment on the sweet cream & peony scent; unfortunately, I have a cold at the moment and can't smell ANYTHING. But in my past experience Dove body washes are quite moisturizing and leave my skin feeling soft.

Cetaphil Moisturizing Body Cream - Every box comes with at least one product especially made for dry, itchy skin. This is great because my husband is still on the quest for finding the perfect moisturizing cream. Mostly everything isn't hydrating enough or gets absorbed so quickly that he'll burn through an entire bottle in two weeks. Cerave cream came close, and since Cetaphil is supposed to be comparable, I'm interested to see how this fares.

Batiste Dry Shampoo - Dry shampoos seem to be all the rage lately, but I haven't jumped on the bandwagon. Of all the brands I've tried none have kept my hair from looking greasy and weighed down. If anything it made it look more so. Maybe I'm just using it wrong??

Hello Naturally Friendly Extra Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste - Lots of whitening toothpastes are bad for those with sensitive teeth and gums due to the harsh peroxides and dyes in them. Fortunately, Hello naturally friendly toothpaste contains a silica and calcium carbonate blend that gently whitens teeth while also preventing cavities and strengthening enamel.

Clean & Clear Deep Action 60 Second Shower Mask - Let's face it. We're all busy and want to save time. If that includes being able to use a mask in the shower then I'm all ears. This exfoliating mask works with the steam of your shower to remove dirt, oil and dead skin. And all you need is 60 seconds! And in case you have oily skin, you'll be happy to know that this mask is oil-free.

Village Naturals Therapy Aches+Pains Muscle Relief Concentrated Mineral Bath Soak - You've probably heard of using Epsom salt to soothe sore muscles. This is exactly that, with soothing eucalyptus, spearmint and menthol essential oils for further relaxation. Just dissolve this packet in bath water, soak your tired muscles for 12-15 minutes, and feel the pain melt away.

Walmart Beauty always throws in a couple of single-use samples to round out the box. This time we got some vitamin gummies, makeup brush cleansing cloths, and Biore nose strips. Nothing life-changing, but they're fun to try nonetheless.

If you like what you see here, it's not too late to get a Fall beauty box! Click here to sign up. This review was for the Trendsetter box, but you could get a Classic version according to which age group you fall in. Lately the box values have been on par with the shipping charge, but I stay subscribed because it's always fun to see what new affordable beauty finds there are each season!

Stickii Club Cute Sticker Pack Review - September 2016

What: Stickii is a sticker subscription that sends an envelope full of Cute, Retro or Pop themed stickers every month (you get to choose the category!). This review is for the Cute pack.
When: Ships on the 11th or 21st of each month depending on your signup date
Cost: $10 per month (free shipping)

After being blown away by last month's delicious Stickii pack, I had high expectations for September's stickers. Cute pack subscribers received an email letting them know that this month's theme would be pandas. Ever since I watched these payful giant pandas on YouTube I get a warm fuzzy feeling every time I see a picture of one. So you can be sure I was super excited for my panda stickers to come in!

The first thing that caught my eye were the big puffy pandas with colorful fruits. I love puffy stickers and I love color. Add a panda and I'm in heaven. The stickers on the bottom left are also puffy AND THEY HAVE PANDA BUTTS. Isn't it weird that society thinks animal butts are the cutest things ever? There's also some panda washi so I can plaster it all over my planner and stare at pandas all week long. How thoughtful :)

Next up are more colorful stickers of pandas doing human things and a sticker sheet featuring rows and rows of panda faces. And those mischievous bears somehow found themselves stuck in food. They're kind of like puppies - stick a puppy in anything and it instantly becomes 10x cuter. Evidently the same goes for pandas.

More panda butts! And big panda stickers that are going straight on my computer so I can look at it everyday. Lastly, there's sticky flags with pandas on them. omg omg omg. I don't know why but lately I've been hoarding any cute sticky flags I can get my hands on and I currently have way more than I'll ever use. These stickies do nothing to help my problem but I'm not complaining. :D

It appears that Stickii has done it again. I'm super impressed with this month's Cute pack and will be sticking pandas on everything for the next several weeks. If you love stickers or just like to collect cute things, you can sign up for Stickii Club here. When you subscribe you can choose from three genres - Cute, Retro, and Pop, though all have some cuteness factor. You can even pick up all three if you like, I won't judge ;)

3B Box Review - September 2016

What: The 3B Box (short for Beyond Beauty Borders) contains 4-5 deluxe or full-sized beauty items from Korea, Japan, or Taiwan
When: Ships during the first week of each month
Cost: $12 per month (free shipping!)

In less than one week my husband and I will be as far from the daily grind as possible and enjoying life at the happiest place on earth. Kind of like a belated honeymoon/1st anniversary celebration because I'm a big kid at heart :) (and I'm not gonna lie...I wanted to be selfish and enjoy Disneyworld sans kids one last time before we start a family #sorrynotsorry) So before we leave I wanted to get this unboxing post finished.

As always 3B Box arrived about a week after the month started, but to tell you the truth, I haven't used a single thing yet. I've been trying really hard to dive through my older samples first and they're taking a lot longer than expected to finish. But anywho, this is what subscribers received in the September 3B Box:

Heimish All Clean Balm (~1oz, value ~$4) - This was September's spoiler item. I love cleansing sherbets and balms and can never have enough of them. I like to take it traveling because technically it's a solid so it doesn't count toward the 3-1-1 liquid hand carry rule. The only drawback about this one is the scent. There's something very minty about it. I guess that's good if your sinuses are stuffed up but it's not something I look for in my cleansers. But it does smell very clean indeed.

Welcos Aloe Vera Moisture Real Soothing Gel (150g, value ~$5) - When I was growing up, we used to have an aloe plant in the backyard and my dad would break off a leaf and use it whenever one of us kids got too close to the iron (guilty!) or got stung by a bee. Aloe vera is known for its soothing properties, especially for burns. That makes this the perfect moisturizer if you've been standing in the sun all day. My husband frequently has races that last allll day at the track and since he loads his equipment into my truck that means I'm out all day too (don't be fooled by those canopies, they don't block out everything!) This will get some good use in my house. Bonus: it's alcohol-free!

Skin79 Super+ Triple Function BB Cream (7g, value ~$3) - This BB cream contains sebum controlling ingredients like kava and purslane extract and provides SPF25 PA++ protection as well. It comes in 8 shades (this one is pink) including purple, orange, green, etc depending on your coverage and color-correcting goals. I think I'll look into one of those other shades if anything; cool colored BB creams don't go well with my warm skin tone.

Etude House Honey Cera Cream (10ml, value $4) - Honey is often used in cosmetics due to its antibacterial and antioxidant properties which makes it good for acne prone skin. This is a highly moisturizing lightweight cream that's ideal for drier skin types. I tend to stay away from creams because even the ones that claim to be lightweight leave my face an oily mess all the way until morning regardless of how little I apply. Maybe I'll use this as a hand cream or lotion instead.

Etude House Honey Cera Priming Eye Serum (5ml, value $5) - Oh the honey! Pooh would have a ball. This eye serum is from the same line as the facial cream above. In addition to honey, this serum contains ceramide, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide to help with hydration and brightening. Great for those sleepless nights when you wake up with panda eyes.

I really wanted to like this month's bag a lot, but I'm just not thrilled with anything other than the aloe gel. I think I'd be more excited if the BB cream was a different shade or if the cleansing balm had a different scent (or better yet, unscented). I'm still debating if I want to take the balm with me to Disneyworld, but the aloe gel is definitely coming along for the ride since my skin could really use some TLC after being outdoors all day for a week!

If you enjoy getting Asian beauty goodies in the mail every month (especially skincare), you can subscribe to 3B Box here. It's just $12/month with free shipping which makes it one of the most affordable Asian beauty boxes on the market.

Pipsticks Pro Classic Sticker Pack Review - September 2016

What: Pipsticks is a sticker subscription that sends you stickers from around the world. Depending on which plan you subscribe to, each sticker pack will contain 7-15+ sheets of stickers along with other fun paper extras. Sticker packs are marketed as either Pro (adults) or Kids and come in two sizes (Classic or Petite) for each demographic.
When: Ships monthly
Cost: Pro/Kids Classic pack: $14.95/month; Pro/Kids Petite pack: $9.95/month (+$3 shipping for int'l customers)

This month marks Pipsticks' 2 year anniversary and to celebrate they beefed up September's Pro Classic pack to make a MEGA pack. Past Pro Classic packs have included about 15 total sheets of stickers. Let's see how this one compares!

Mega pack is about right. I could tell from just holding the shipping envelope that it felt thicker than usual. But it's about quality not quantity, right? Well then, let's break this pack down...

No birthday sticker pack would be complete without some PARTY STICKERS! And what better way to celebrate than with sweets? Lots and lots of sweets. That sweets-themed sheet up in the top right is making my mouth water! Glittery "Let's Party" stickers, balloons, more desserts, and a cupcake shaped notepad round out the party in this pack.

Add an animal to your birthday party and it's automatically 200% more fun. (Have you ever had pony rides at a bday party? OMG.) Plus the fact that a random unicorn decided to waltz its way into this sticker pack increases that fun by another 200%.  I'd also like to point out those pug stickers in the top left. Those are custom stickers, you guys. If you ever wanted to immortalize your pet (or yourself), now's your chance. Create your own personalized stickers at My Sticker Face.

My latest obsession is dressing up my planner. I've spent embarrassing amounts of $$$ on stickers just so I can make it all pretty and stuff. These will help to fuel my addiction hobby. I can use the hearts for to-do lists and the circles on the edge of my pages to mark the weeks with important events.

And finally, Elvis has entered the building! These are the rest of the stickers that didn't really fit into a category but are just as appreciated. I love the simplicity of the happy flowers/music note and it's probably my second favorite sticker sheet in here (next to the full sheet of desserts!), but for some reason I can't stop pressing those puffy stickers on the right - they feel foamy and it's oddly satisfying.

I thoroughly enjoyed every cupcake and ice cream sticker sheet in here (and still can't stop pressing the foamy stickers), but for a 2nd anniversary mega pack I was looking forward to even more cake and confetti. Think glittery party hats, prismatic streamers and holographic unicorns. At least the unicorn part made it in. But that's just my take. At least there was a lot of variety this month!

Think this was pretty cool? Click here to join Pipsticks by 9/14 and you can still get September's pack. Don't forget to use code FBPROCLASSIC25 to get 25% off your first month! Or use my link to get $5 off your first order.
